On-site Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Systems

The soil at the Ellett Valley site was not suitable for a conventional system due to shallow depth to shale bedrock and slowly permeable clay.

The pretreatment used at this site was a NORWECO extended aeration package treatment plant with a tablet chlorinator.

Installation of lines to transport effluent the package plant to the pump chamber and sampling wells to monitor effluent quality.

Construction of the supply lines to transport effluent to the spray application site.

These collection chambers were installed downslope of the spray site to collect any runoff that occurred.

A protion of each spray site was surrounded with metal flashing to direct any surface runoff into the collection chambers.

Line that transports effluent from the extended aeration package treatment plant to the pump chamber and from the pump chamber to the spray irrigation site.
