Not Robert E. Lee's Horse
The Wangs + 1
We would like to introduce ourselves to our esteemed visitors. Read about our individual exploits below.
Mom
Janet Elaine Remington Wang is the matriarch of our family. Born in Blue Earth County, MN, she met her future husband as a missionary with the Covenant Church in Taiwan. She is an accomplished world traveller and teacher. A longtime first grade Sunday School teacher, Jan's distinguished record of service also includes teaching women's Bible studies, English classes, and missionary guest speaker. She is also a wonderful mother.
Dad
Kai-Jen Wang was a victim of Janet's english classes. After studying English in her classes and marrying Janet twice, they moved to the United States where he pursued a degree in Computer Science from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. He took a job in Roanoke with Dominion Bank (now Wachovia) and is now a Senior Network Engineer for the City of Roanoke. If you have ever used the Roanoke Public Library System''s computers, please thank Kevin for keeping them operational
Josh
Joshua K. Wang just completed his baccalaurate studies in electrical engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VPI). After enjoying this trip (a graduation present), he will begin graduate studies in electrical engineering at VPI. A marginally talented violinist at best, Joshua likes to amuse himself playing the violin when he is not otherwise occupied.
ABC
Amanda Blair Cyphers is the newest and fairest member of our travelling party. Having just completed her first year of baccalaureate studies in Biology at VPI, she will participate in a summer research program at VPI after taking a holiday with us. We hope she will clone a large mammal, specifically a Giant Panda!
An accomplished violinist herself, Amanda met Josh through a common violin teacher and other musical activities, like the Roanoke Youth Symphony. Although foolish enough to fall in love with Joshua, her reforming influence on Joshua is most appreciated.
