Shoryuin Muso Chishin Ryu Heiho Shorin Ken Karatedo
The Bushin-Kan (Martial Arts Hall) of Blacksburg has a long history at Virginia Tech practicing Karatedo (way of the empty hand). Internationally certified instructors provide classical Japanese martial arts training at the War Memorial Gym on the Virginia Tech campus. Participants are introduced to classical Japanese martial philosophy, techniques, katas, and self-defense. Legitimate ranking is conveyed through the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai (Greater Japan Martial Virtue Society), Japan's oldest and most prestigious martial arts society (Circa 1895). Through time-honored training, members of this program endeavor to achieve the optimal balance, strength, self-discipline, self-confidence, and harmony of the mind, body, and spirit.
