Quote of the day:

Matt: Well did you bring the physics textbook?

Brad: NO. That book's HEAVY!

Because kittens are possibly the cutest darn things on the entire planet, here are some gratuitous kitten pictures.

Uncle Glenn came down and we went waterskiing. Got some sweet, sweet pictures (click on pic to left).

Semesters just keep coming. Here is a link to my schedule for this coming Fall semester.

Found a neat article about using bacteria to liberate useful energy (in the form of combustible gasses) from wastewater. Check this out.

iPod Count: 15 + 1 iPod Shuffle! Amazing! The iPod count is the daily count of the number of iPods I see on Virginia Tech's campus, walking to and from class. The best place to catch them is at the bus stop. The headphones are rather distinctive, so you can generally tell right away whether someone is listening to an iPod or something else. But 15! Wow! The count is usually more like 5! Alex's stock market suggestion: go buy Apple Computer stock . . . and then go buy an iPod!

Back to school it is. Here is a link to my schedule for the semester. Sooner or later I may even post some pictures of the last couple months (Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. . . .).

Car Show. A couple of weekends ago I helped my uncle run the concessions at an old car show up at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. We were in the Cow Palace, imagine that. In any case, I took some time off on Sunday and took pictures of all the cars. The lighting wasn't great so the pictures don't do the cars justice. I think I want the green 1968 Shelby GT500. So now you know what I want for Christmas . . .

Took this picture of the fox in our backyard. Ben had flushed him from cover, and he was meandering off down the woodline, not particularly concerned about us. This was cropped from the center of a huge by huge picture, which is why it has this neat watercolor-like look. Click the fox for another picture.

Swing Dancing! Here is a flyer for the dance studio I'm taking lessons at, Avalon Dance Studio. They are starting a new set of classes this next week, so come on! They are GREAT teachers, and swing is a heck of a lot of fun. Also, here is a fall schedule for dances at the Spanish Ballroom down at Glen Echo. Such an awesome place to dance!

Here is a link to the letter that my Grandfather wrote to the Republican Party. I added some comments to it, and I think it covers some ground that would benifit everyone to read, not just Republicans. So whether you have decided to vote for Kerry or Bush, or even if you haven't decided yet, why don't you take a minute and read the letter.

Hagerstown. Nice visit up to see some of the extended family up in Hagerstown, MD. The thumbnail is Ben carrying our younger cousin, Gregory.

Waterskiing is fun. Waterskiing is fun. Waterskiing is fun. Waterskiing is fun. Waterskiing is fun. Waterskiing is fun. Waterskiing is fun. Waterskiing is fun. Say it with me.

Hurricane Charley. On Friday the 13th of August, Hurricane Charley tore through Port Charlotte, Florida. Here are some pictures from the cleanup effort. We were only able to scrath the surface in the time we were down there, but as far as the house went, we were better off than some. As far as the boats went, however, that is a slightly different story.

Refrigerator boxes (or other large appliance boxes) are one of the best toys ever invented.

A file that big?
It might be very useful
But now it is gone
