About Me

I'm a sophomore at Virginia Tech, just about done with the fall semester. Since I've come to Tech, I've become involved in cycling and sustainability here on campus a lot. Coming here knowing no one, it's awesome to know so many people here my second year, and I love it here at Tech. I'm majoring in Chemical Engineering, as well as Mathematics and Chemistry, so that along with the cycling, sustainability stuff, and Lauren, keep me as busy as I could every want.

I'm an officer on the cycling team this year, in charge of all of clothing. With well over 100 orders this year, totaling over $20K, it's been a lot of work, but hopefully it will be rewarding when we finally get those jerseys in! I created a page for the jerseys at andyreagan.com/jerseydesign to get a peek at what they're going to look like! The team also has a website which provides more detailed info on races, and just in case you didn't believe that I was actually on the team for some reason, you can look at the rider profiles.

One of the most interesting classes I am in is Earth Sustainability as it focuses on many of the issues that I am concerned about. This year, we have a year-long action project that we're working on in groups, to take an issue that we have learned about and do something about at Tech! Our group is looking to plan a big community bike ride in the spring, and making a bike blender! Whether or not it becomes part of the project, I'm also working with a whole bunch of groups and have applied for a Student Entreprenuership grant to bring a bike co-op to campus too! I'm also the leader of the Facebook group dedicated to Earth Sustainability students.

Some of the other groups that I have become involved with on campus are the Bike Co-operative, on which I'm a board member (and trying to get a space on campus), the SGA Sustainability Committee, the SGA Transportation Committee, and am still a psuedo-member of the Triathlon Team haha.
