Rowdy Dawg Kennel: Snowless training | ||
|---|---|---|
| Running in the south means being able to train and run without snow. We have tried a lot of ways to run dogs. A three wheeled cart of death, bicycles, a motorless ATV, an actual ATV and finally the best of all, a Fritz-Dyke dog cart. | ||

The quality of a training cart can have a HUGE inpact on the amount of fun that you have carting. Our new Fritz-Dyke cart is AWESOME. The brakes RULE and the "digger" brake really allows you to get off the cart if you have a tangle, etc. We HIGHLY recommend this cart. We love ours. | |

Here's another view of the cart. Its as close to running with a sled that you'll get. Its easy to peddle, run or walk if you want to assist the dogs. You can even carry a passenger (make sure they have eye pretection!) | |

Here's a picture of our "hand-me-down" free cart. We picked it up from a local who knew a local who used to live here and run sled dogs. After a lot of welding, re-welding and new parts, we got it up and running. Better than nothing!
My parents came up for the weekend and we gave my mother a
ride on the New River Trail. |

In an effort to control a larger team, we even tried a motorless ATV. Check it out here. | |
