Paper #3: Literary or cultural analysis
For this assignment, choose a literary work or a cultural artifact, performance, practice, or institution (including film) and interpret it using one or more of the critical approaches that we have studied in class.
Make
sure you
1. Choose an approach (or approaches) that will allow
you to demonstrate your interpretive abilities as well as your understanding
of the critical literature (i.e., what we have learned in class). This means
writing meaningfully about the critical approach and discussing it in theoretical
terms as well as using it to analyze your "text." It may also mean
distinguishing your approach from others.
2. You will also want to choose an approach appropriate to the "text"
that you are going to analyze. Most interpretations are amalgams of more than
one specific approach.
3. Model your paper on the articles that you have annotated for your bibliography.
4. Have fun!
Important
info
1. 6-8 pages (approximately)
2. Remember to check the formatting web page.

Handing these in on time will be considered as part of the overall grade, as
will the content of these documents.
4. Include a Works Cited section in MLA format.
5. This paper is instead of a final exam and thus should demonstrate
your overall learning in the course.
6. The paper involves a presentation during the final exam
