It is a one day event which consists of a 7 mile down river endurance race, a whitewater rodeo and a boater cross. ![]() Chris suiting up for the race ![]() Two leaders in the playboat division ![]() Just continuous Class 2-3 for 7 miles
I entered the playboat downriver endurance race where I came in second. I also entered the Rodeo which had lots more competitors than the race (probably due to the later time of the rodeo) the Rodeo was Held on Swan Creek hole. It was a flushy wave-hole, nothing to write home about. Lots of time was spent in the eddy waiting for the wave to break as it was nearly impossible to surf it in our playboats when it was greened out. The rodeo was set up in 4 heats of 7 competitors who were allowed 3 rides each, 28 competitors total. After my heat they announced the top 6 scores of the competition, I was one of them. Not too bad for my first rodeo. The finals heat came and went and I am sad to say I choked a little and did not perform as well as I would have liked. But even so, I had a great time competing.
![]() Squeezing by house rock ![]() House rock ![]() Lots of racers below house rock All of the people that I met were extremely helpful and seemed like cool boaters. I think that no matter where you go east or west; north or south, Boaters are boaters. Real relaxed people that just generally enjoy life. Montana is no exception. Stay tuned for my Big Timber Creek hike coming soon. -Chris Go To Top ![]() |
