The student will demonstrate knowledge of major events and outcomes of the Cold War by

c) describing conflicts and revolutionary movements in eastern Asia, including those in China and Vietnam, and their major leaders, i.e. Mao Tse-tung (Zedong), Chiang Kai-shek, and Ho Chi Minh. Conflicts and revolutionary movements in China

Author of the Truman doctrine and official U.S. policy of containment.  He has been compared
to President Bush. He did however, fire General Douglas Macarthur for being to aggressive and putting the United States in a dangerous position in the Korean conflict with China because of China’s involvement on the side of the communists of Northern Korea.
