Welcome to Dad's page

Dad continues to enjoy New Kent. He's become quite the fixture in the county. He was elected treasurer of the Rotary Club this year. So now in addition for lawyer/reptile paperwork he now does plenty of spreadsheets. He and Mom still go to the golf clubhouse every Friday night to enjoy dinner and drinks with their neighborhood friends. Jim and I go whenever we are home. Hey, booze and grub paid for by dad? Sign me up; I'm a poor college student after all.

I asked Dad what he wanted included here on his page and all I got was, "Cate, I don't know." Seems like nothing special or important has happened last year.
He and Mom took a vacation this winter to the Dominican Republic with a whole group of their neighbors from here in Brickshire. Once again leaving their darling daughter to waste away in the frigid climate of Blacksburg. I'm noticing a pattern developing over the last 21 years. Mom and Dad go to some pretty exciting places (Hawaii, Saint Maarten, the DR), they just neglect to include their offspring. Yes, Jim gets to travel the globe via his education and job. But what do I get? Nada. The big goose egg. That's fine. They'll get their revenge with my choice of retirement home. Just kidding.

Dad continues to hit up the shooting range, escorting us kids and our friends whenever we request it. He tries not to miss a horse race at Colonial Downs. The County Attorney does have to make his presence known after all. This July he got David and two of our college friends into the luxury boxes for the Virginia Derby, where we got to enjoy the open bar and watch the races from the plush chairs in the air-conditioned suite. Thanks Pops.

So while I struggle to think of more things to elaborate on Dad's life, head over to the photos page and check out some evidence of Punta Cana and their first Hokie football game.
