I am originally from Cincinnati, OH. I attended and graduated from the University of Cincinnati in June 2000 with my BS in Mechanical Engineering. Cincinnati has a mandatory co-op program for its Engineering students. Through this program I was able to gain valuable experience at the companies of Cincinnati Thermal Spray and Sheet Dynamics, Ltd., both in Cincinnati, OH. While at Sheet Dynamics, Ltd., I worked on many projects in the fields of vibration and control. I enjoyed this work very much and decided to pursue a higher degree focusing mostly in the controls areas. I am now a Master's student here at Virginia Tech working with Dr. Leo on PZT actuated hydraulic pumping systems.
