Seminars can be tailored to individual groups. Seminars on collections and collections management are available for collectors' groups. Staff and board training seminars are available for museum boards, staff, and volunteers.

ARTS & CRAFTS SOCIETY: ANNUAL COLLECTIONS MANAGEMENT SEMINAR
This seminar (presented anually since 2000) at the historic Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina is aimed at helping collectors keep track of their collections and assists with documentation for purposes of insurance and valuation.
FULBRIGHT COMMISSION: COLLECTIONS MANAGEMENT AND MUSEUM ADMINISTRATION
Two seminars were presented for museum professionals and advanced students at the Panama Canal Museum and the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Panama during fall 2000. The seminars were sponsored by each museum, the National Institute of Culture, the American Embassy and the Fulbright Commission.
VIRGINIA COMMISSION: TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
The Virginia Commission has sponsored a number of grants to various museums to assist with organizational development (1999-2000). These seminars are aimed at museum professionals to assist the organization with development or finding specific problems.
SMITHSONIAN ASSOCIATES: LECTURE SERIES
The Smithsonian Associates sponsored a number of lectures held on the campus of Appalachian State University to expand the understanding of regional culture (1999). For a sample, see educational essay.
ASSESSMENTS AND ACCREDITATION: USING THE SELF-STUDY AS A TOOL
This explanation of museum assessments and accreditation procedures is designed to assist museums with an understanding best practice and standards for the purpose of growth and organizational development.
