Welcome to the Land of all Things Catfish. This page is maintained by Ivan Davis. For about 17 years now, I have been matching wits with the ole' cats; before I could walk, I could sling a baitcaster 30 yards without backlash. At age 12, I attacked my first tournament. I was humbled pretty quickly, both by the skill and dexterity of the pros and more importantly, by not catching a single fish. Now, I have been on the tournament trail off and on for about 7 years and I have won my fair share. But to tell the truth, the best fishing I know is on a little subdivision lake just a short walk away from where I live. The catfish, mostly channel with some flathead, do not attain great size, but by using a light rig, the battle between fish and man is accelerated. And this battle is the essence of the sport.
