I am currently a Ph.D. student in the transportation systems area, the Charles E. Via, Jr. Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg Virginia. I am also working as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Center for Sustainable Mobility at Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI). My research interests lie in the operational side of Transportation Engineering: Driver behavior analysis, human theory of choice, modeling gap acceptance behavior, inclement weather impact studies, artificial intelligence applications, and intelligent transportation systems. I earned my B.Sc. from Public Works- Civil Engineering Department, Ain Shams University, Egypt. Thereafter, I earned my Master of Science degree from Civil Engineering Department at Virginia tech.
I was a Teaching Assistant and Instructor for many transportation related courses at Ain Shams University (Egypt) and Virginia Tech (USA), in addition to my part time job as a transportation engineer in multiple engineering firms. I had the opportunity of publishing several papers and I was honored various awards during my research in Virginia Tech. Upon Graduation, my objective is to pursue in the academic career and become a faculty member in one of the top ranked universities. I enjoy in my spare time outdoor activities and reading.
