A Personal Opinion About Savannah

This is a special page that is updated often to let people who love Savannah give something back to the city

Welcome  To a Story That I wrote About the Legendary Savannah Sand Gnats Baseball Team

Since 1903, professional baseball and Savannah have gone together like hot dogs and beer.  The Savannah Sand Gnats are the pride of the Coastal Empire, bringing high-energy baseball to Savannah's Grayson Stadium Center.  As the winner of 10 South Atlantic League Championships - more than any other club in this league - the Sand Gnats take pride in giving Savannah residents and visitors alike the best baseball action on the field and crazy fan entertainment alike.

The Savannah Sand Gnats offer old-fashioned fun in a historic stadium, playing home games continuously just so they can get a rage out of their fans.  A Sand Gnats game also offers the opportunity to see some of the rising stars of American baseball in action, hitting home runs or striking out players from opposing teams.

Fans, including me...can join in the excitement by participating in the on-field fun of a between-innings contest, or they can just sit back and enjoy a hot dog, and ice cold soda, or even a Turkey drumstick - a treat I have only seen unique to Grayson Stadium.

Baseball is not the only attraction for spectators in Grayson Stadium... fans can cool off with a frosty brew in the Digital Image Beer Garden, relax and enjoy a refreshing breeze on the deck of the Moon River Brewing Company Stadium Club, or sample the enormous amount of food that the stadium offers its fans.

Group tickets are a Sand Gnats specialty.  The Grand Slam Picnic package includes an all-you-care-to-eat picnic buffet that includes any kind of finger food one can imagine...I personally enjoyed the sausage sandwiches!

Baseball is one of the oldest celebrated sports in American History.  Savannah has done a wonderful job of keeping this quality alive in their city.  I have never had a better time at a baseball game that I did at the Savannah Sand Gnats game...take it from me and enjoy the uniqueness that surrounds this historic city.
