Lelia Jackson Photo Collection
This collection of 202 photos belonged at one time to Lelia P. Jackson (1884-1960), daughter of Hugh Pribble Jr. and Mary Ellen Dulin Pribble and wife of Ira L. Jackson (1880-1949). Though many of the photos were Lelia's, a number were handed down through her husband's Jackson family, and at some point the two collections were merged.
These photos are still in the hands of a descendant. While I do not have the originals, I do have copies--in one form or another--of the entire collection. In 1994, I began trying to attach names to the faces in these photos. When I began, only two of the 202 photos had been identified. Today, with the help of numerous cousins and other helpful individuals, we have been able to identify more than 80 of these photos. No doubt more will be identified eventually.
For those of you following my progress, the entire collection is now available online.
Clicking on an image number will bring up the image in a new browser window. Many of the photos have been saved at a larger size than the originals to make them easier to view. While I have attempted not to alter image quality too much, adjustments in brightness and contrast were made to many photos to enhance their quality.
