April 16th |

| April 16th was shocking to everyone. People handled it many different ways; many students went home, but my friends and I did not. We wanted to be around the people we loved and cared about that were going through the exact same thing as we were. We stuck around Blacksburg and went to the candle light vigil and the convocation together. Then that Friday we headed down to South Carolina to get away for a bit. We spent Hokie Hope day in a piano bar in Myrtle Beach. We asked the pianist to allow us to use the microphone and we divided the bar in half and did the “Lets go Hokies” chant with the entire bar, the pianists then played “Enter Sandman.” That memory is still one of the most touching memories from college. | |
