Football Games
There’s nothing like a Blacksburg game day. No matter how early we would arrive at our tailgate plot, it always seemed like the older alumni would beat us there which gave us hope for post-college life. We would reserve the entire day for Hokie football whether it was a home game or an away game. We would walk places on game day that we wouldn’t dream of walking to on any regular day i.e. from chicken hill to the game to down town then back to chicken hill. Big football games brought chills, no matter how cold or how rainy, the stands would be filled for “Enter Sandman” and you couldn’t even hear the person talking next to you. I even feel like it was the rainy cold big games that were the most fun because it was the truly dedicated fans that withstood the elements- well let’s be honest, all Virginia Tech fans are dedicated. Simply put, there’s nothing like Blacksburg game days.
