| Everyone always says that you learn more in college outside of the classroom than you do inside of it, and like most people I also find this statement to be true. So I wanted to dedicate a page to my life in college, outside of the classroom. It’s hard to point out the lessons learned but I’m sure there are many, as I have grown tremendously in my five years here at Virginia Tech, and I wouldn’t trade those five years for anything in the world. I have made my best friends here, friends who have turned into family through all the good times and the bad. I have created memories that will last me a lifetime and that I will truly cherish forever. I think Tom Petty said it best “You have four years to be irresponsible here. Relax. Work is for people with jobs. You'll never remember class time, but you'll remember time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So, stay out late. Go out on a Tuesday with your friends when you have a paper due Wednesday. Spend money you don't have. Drink 'til sunrise. The work never ends, but college does...” | |
