  Did you know that all “LIVING” things could be “classified” or “put” into a KINGDOM? Well, they can ---REALLY!!!!!!  Here are the “5” kingdoms: Animalia, (ANIMALS) Fungi, Monera, Plantae, (PLANTS) Protista.

 

  Here is a chart to help you understand how the “living” things are classified into the correct KINGDOM.

Animalia (animals)

Multi-cellular organisms with tissues, organs, organ systems.

Arthropod (crustaceans, insects, spiders), mollusks, round & flat worms, sponges, chordates (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals)

Fungi

Share many characteristics with plants –but does not contain chlorophyll and cannot make its own food.

Mushrooms, molds, club fungi, sac fungi,

Monera

Contains all the Earth’s bacteria

Eubacteria, archbacteria

Plantae (plants)

Multi-cellular organisms that contain chlorophyll and make their own food.

Flowering plants, conifers, ferns, mosses, cyads, lycophytes

Protista

Unicellular organisms with a nucleus

Algae, slime, amoebas, paramecia
