The Imperial Klingon Battle Fleet Academy

Greetings and welcome to the online domain of the Imperial Klingon Battle Fleet Academy! It is here that IKBF members come to undergo the trials which serve as rites of passage for certain ranks and positions within the Fleet. There are only three tests currently offered here, but if interest is shown, additional elective tests may just be added.

Each test can be taken in a variety of ways: it is available for download in MS Word 2000 (.doc) and plain text (.txt) format, it can be completed online via an HTML form, or you may request an e-mail copy of the test by sending an e-mail to Major Karchang. The IKBF undertsands that real life can be a nuisance at times, so you are allowed as much time as you require to finish each test. Upon completion of a particular test, return it via e-mail to Major Karchang for grading, and you will soon be notified with the results.

Reference Materials
The trials posted herin were created using a variety of sources. Some of these texts can be found in bookstores, other more obscure texts can be found at such sites as Amazon or EBay, and other sources are posted online. Below is a series of links at which you can find the various source materials if you do not already own them. If acquiring these texts is difficult for whatever reason, it is very possible that one or more of your fellow Klingons own copies and would be willing to let you borrow them while you take the tests. Remember, this is not just a fan club, but a family of Klingons.

The Test of the Warrior

This test is geared primarily towards new recruits of the IKBF. Upon successful completion of this trial, one will have a basic understanding of Klingon language, history, and culture. For all intents and purposes, this is the "Introductory Klingon" course. Younger warriors should also be able to complete this test without much difficulty. New members of the IKBF are encouraged to take this test as soon as is convenient. Successful completion of this trial is required before promotion to the rank of Yeoman and moving on to the Test of the Officer.

The Test of the Officer

When the time comes for a Warrior to undergo the Test of the Officer, they will more than likely have already created a character and constructed a costume. At this point, the Warrior will be expected to have a basic understanding of IKBF policies (as published in the IKBF Handbook) and will face more difficult questions on Kllingon language, history, and culture. After all, as an officer and eventually a leader, newer IKBF members will look to you for guidance and advice as they begin to develop their Klingon persona. Successful completion of this trial is required before promotion to Ensign and moving on to the Test of the Leader.

The Test of the Leader

Klingons of command rank are expected to lead by example, so the Test of the Leader will be much more difficult than the previous trials. Here, a Warrior will face more in depth questions of IKBF policy, (drawing from the IKBF Leadership Annex as well as the Handbook) will be tested on more obscure aspects of Klingon history and culture, and be expected to understand more complex Klingon phrases. Warriors who successfully complete this trial will have the basic knowledge needed to become an effective member of the IKBF High Council. Successful passage of this trial is required before an individual can be confirmed as a chapter commander or member of the IKBF Fleet Staff.
