Lucas Roberts

Currently I am a Ph D student at Virginia Tech University.

I am studying Statistics.
My Background is in Math, I have a Bachelors degree from Castleton State College
in Math where I studied the traditional coursework for Math Majors including Analysis, Differential Equations, Modern/Abstract Algebra and Topology all of which were studied from a Mostly theoretical viewpoint. .

Since 2008 I have been at Virginia Tech
Where I completed my Masters in Statistics in December 2009.
During the summer of 2009 I worked at Capital One
in Richmond VA, where I got interested in applications of statistics to Business and Finance.
Currently I am finishing course work for my Ph D and working on two projects: Improving Wine production and quality while simultaneously reducing the use of harmful and costly pesticides with Ciro Velasco-Cruz and Gill Giese, and Bayesian Visual Analytics or BaVA an NSF funded project with several Virginia Tech Faculty and Graduate Students.
