How do you get an internship? One of the best pieces of advice is start early. Another: draw on your personal network. (If you don't have a personal network, get to work building it!)

The American Political Science Association lists a variety of research grants and fellowships.

The Bosch Foundation offers fellowships to serve in European governments.

The Chronicle of Higher Education maintains a list of grants for academic research.

The Virginia Tech Graduate School maintains a list of funding opportunities.

UC-Berkeley maintains a nice list of pre- and post-docs in the social sciences and humanities.
