The Virginia Tech Instructional Technology Master's degree requirements include coursework and the successful defense of a Professional Development Portfolio (PDP). The PDP is an instrument meant to demonstrate competencies in five areas established by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Each of these five AECT areas is linked to a page detailing relevant courses, professional experiences and activities, and supporting exhibits.
