This last room only had 2 things in it, a television and a large sculpture.
The TV was showing a looped presentation of sketches, paintings,
and poetry. The presentation was made in
PowerPoint and dumped to video tape. There are a couple of ways for you to check
out the presentation. The first (and my least favorite)
would be to follow this link.
This will let you click through the basic show but you lose all the neat animations and
a lot of quality. You can download a
zipped (PC compression) or hqx (Mac compression) version of the
presentation and look at it on your own
computer. Or, if you have Internet Explorer 5.5 or better,
you can view it in your
browser. Or if you hate all these options, send me an
email and I will dub you a copy of
the video tape!
The Teeth Dreamer
This is the biggest, possibly weirdest, sculpture I have made. He's life-sized,
made with chickenwire over a wood frame. His head and hands are paper-mache over
cardboard and chickenwire, then painted with rubberized paint for that life-like
alien skin texture. His mouth is made from vacuum cleaner parts, his teeth are mirror shards.
He was directly inspired by a dream I had as a child. I love his big flower-like eyes,
which show that, even though he is a monster, he's kinda friendly.
