Materials & Processes Spring 2003

Materials and Processes I & II offered various experiences with numerous materials and processes. We were introduced to safe and efficient use of hand and machine tools. We gained experience and research with materials and processes as applied to the development of products. In Materials and Processes I, we did numerous individual projects to gain knowlegde of the content. In Material and Processes II, we had a big design project and presentation. Below shows specific material covered in each class.

EDTE 2425: Materials and Processes I

Injection molding, Extrusion, Blow molding, Compression molding, Permanent mold casting, Die forming, Slip casting, Spot welding, Soldering

EDTE 2426: Materials and Processes II

Safe and efficient use of woodworking machines, Product design and mock-ups, Product prototype development, Conducting research projects

 

 



 

This Portfolio was developed in a series of Graphic Communication/Communication Technology courses, taught in the Technology Education Program at Virginia Tech.
