In this learning activity package (LAP), I made an eight page brochure (two 8.5x11" saddle-sticked signatures) explaining the basics of "prepress" and incorporateing all of the images I created in the Prepress LAP. The brochure has 0.5" margins on all four sides.

The brochure layout is consistent with the CRAP (contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity) and other design principles. The text and rough layout was approved by a client, Dr. Sanders - (as would be the case in the real world). Written and verbal feedback was given along the design process.

First, I wrote the text for the brochure in Word, keeping in mind a 7th grade audience. Then I sketched a rough layout (Figure 1) that was critiqued. I had to determine how many pages I needed, where each page was to be layed out, and what designs and graphics I was going to use. After laying my ideas out on a mock brochure, I was able to determine where each page should be placed. Finally, I was able to produce the brochure in Adobe Pagemaker. In Figures 2.1-2.4, you can see the layout of the brochure in Pagemaker or you can open the PDF below.
