Opening Scene of Diversity Digital Video

I worked on this LAP with my classmate Ryan Sackett. We started our video process by doing research about diversity at Virginia Tech. We found the Virginia Tech diversity website very helpful. Our next step was to get a vision of what we wanted our video to look like. While brainstorming, we contrived a storyboard that demonstrated our thoughts about what we wanted the video to be like. You can see and learn more about our preliminary storyboard if you click below.

Scene from Diversity Digital Video

We used a JVC digital video camera with 520 lines of resolution, 16x optical zoom, and 680k pixel CCD as well as a Fuji 3.2 FinePixel 3800 digital camera with to create our video. Our video was composed using iMovie and is comprised of still images, videos, transitions, digital audio, and digital music. We explored the following aspects of diversity in our video: Where is diversity at Virginia Tech? Diversity on Campus, Diversity in Action, and Diversity in Clubs and Organizations. We included four interviews to demonstrate these aspects: Charles Dela Cuesta: Undergraduate Student; Everton Lewis: Graduate Student; Dr. Nouredinne Hamamouch: Formar Doctoral Student; and Oscar Peterado: Masters Student.

We created our final storyboard to demonstrate our digital video. We extracted still images from the video and inserted them into a pagelayout program called PageMaker. After completion of the storyboard, we printed a PDF of the storyboard which is available below.
