Lake Conway Chicken -  VERY GOOD

1 cup                      Instant brown rice

¼ cup                     Slivered almonds

¼ cup                     Dried mushrooms

2 tbl                        Dried onion flakes

1 tbl                        Red pepper flakes

½ tsp                      Salt

1-12 oz can            Chicken

2 packages            Instant cream of chicken soup mix

1 ½ cups                                Water

 

AT HOME: Combine first six ingredients in a zip lock bag.

AT CAMP: Stir ingredients in water and simmer 15 minutes.  Add chicken and soup mix. Simmer 3-5 minutes. Serves 3

 

 

No-Bake Brownies

1 ¼ cups                                Graham cracker crumbs

¼ cup                     Chopped Walnuts

2 tbl                        Powdered sugar

½ cup                     Semi-sweet chocolate

3 tbl                        Powdered milk

 

AT HOME: Mix crumbs , chopped walnuts, sugar.

AT CAMP: Mix ¼ water with milk and chocolate. Add crumbs to chocolate and press into pot. Let sit for 30 min.

 

 

Beef Vegetable Wrap

½ cup                     Dried ground beef

1 package              Dried hash browns

¼ cup                     Dried carrots

¼ cup                     Dried tomatoes

2 tbl                        Dried onions

1 envelope             Gravy mix

6                              Tortillas

2 ½ cups                                Water

 

AT HOME: Pack all ingredients except ground beef (in separate bag), gravy mix and tortillas. 

AT CAMP: Add two and a half cups of water to mix. Bring to boil. Cover and remove from heat. Let stand for 10 minutes. Add Gravy powder. Serves 3

 

 

Chipped Beef with Potatoes

 

4 cups                    Instant potatoes

1 package              Instant cheese (from mac and cheese box)

6.75 oz    (+/-)        Chipped beef (3 small jars)

½ tsp                      Salt

1 tsp                       Pepper

4 cups                    Water

 

AT HOME: Mix all ingredients except for beef(bag separately).

AT CAMP: Add all ingredients cook 15 minutes

 

 

Ham Dinner

2-12oz cans           SPAM

11 oz                       Dried green beans

4 packs                   Instant tomato soup

4 tbl                        Onion flakes

6 cups                    Water

 

AT HOME: Mix dry ingredients.

AT CAMP: COOK

 

 

Muesli

3 Cups                    Oatmeal

¼ cup                     Sunflower seeds

¼ cup                     Chopped walnuts

½ cup                     Raisins

½ cup                     Dried Cranberries

1 ½ cups                                Powdered Milk

2 tsp                       Cinnamon

2 tsp                       Nutmeg

½ tsp                      Salt

½ cup                     Sugar

 

AT HOME: Mix all ingredients together.

AT CAMP: Add water.

 

Gorp Mix w/ Fruit

4 cups                    Dry Roasted Peanuts

1 cup                      Raisins

1 cup                      Apricots

1 cup                      M&M’s (peanut or plain)

½ cup                     Sunflower seeds

½ cup                     Banana chips

 

AT HOME: Mix all ingredients and divide evenly in zip-loc (or similar) bags

 

 

Peanuts w/ Chocolate

2 cups                    Dry roasted peanuts

2 cups                    M&M’s (peanut or plain)

 

AT HOME: Mix and divide evenly.

 

Drying Ground Beef-

Brown Beef in pan small pieces. Place on cookie sheet or dehydrator. Cook for 2-4 hours at 140F
