Filebox HAS GONE Google
The needs of the Virginia Tech community for internet-accessible file storage, and simple web pages have outgrown the Filebox Service. In an effort to better serve the needs of our users, the Filebox Service will be discontinued. Using Google Drive will give a much larger storage capacity for documents, while Google Sites provides a web page solution. Users are encouraged to migrate files and websites to the VT Google Apps for Education Suite at this time. Included with VT Google Apps is 30 GB of combined storage between Mail, Drive, and Google+ Photos, providing a much larger storage capacity. Files can easily be shared with other Virginia Tech users, as well as the general public.
The Filebox Service stopped accepting new registrations on May 23, 2014, and no new Filebox accounts will be created. If you have an existing Filebox account, your account will stay open and active until December 31, 2014. At that time, the Filebox Service will be shut down and files will no longer be accessible.
