Short Biography


Dr. Liguang Xie had his B.S. degree (with honors) from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China in 2006, and M.S. degree from Virginia Tech in 2009, both in computer science. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, and a simultaneous M.S. degree in Operations Research in 2013. His advisor is Prof. Tom Hou. He was a recipient of Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students Abroad in 2012, and Paul E. Torgersen Graduate Student Research Excellence Award from Virginia Tech in 2010.

Dr. Xie’s research interests include optimization and algorithm design for wireless networks, with a current focus on exploiting new technology such as wireless power transfer for energy-constrained wireless networks.
